Los Angeles, CA -- LA-based indie record label olivoiL records brings its much anticipated olivoiL indieNight music series to Molly Malones New Music Room for a Summer showcase of exciting indie performers on Wednesday, June 18th at 8:00pm.

olivoiL records founder Cynthia Catania initially conceived of the indieNight series in August 2000 to foster word-of-mouth support for participating indie artists. Each indieNight since the launch of the showcase has successfully generated positive publicity, CD/merchandise sales for each artist as well as helping to boost awareness and fan interest for all involved. The great success of the first six sold-out events is, in fact, due to the top-notch talent olivoiL records has attracted thus far.

Past indieNights have featured performances by former Men At Work singer/songwriter Colin Hay, KCRW regular Phil Roy, long time Madonna background singer Donna De Lory, Joe 90, indie music vet Danny Peck, Canadian pop icon and author Carole Pope, Garrison Starr and Saucy Monky, to name a few. The series is in its 3rd consecutive year of events.

When booking olivoiL indieNights, Catania carefully and personally selects each act.

"I try to choose performers that are both interesting and captivating ... people involved in the indie world that deserve to be heard. Its a chance for us to support one another, share each others music and fan base," says Catania, and most importantly, to create a sense of community between musicians and artists in Los Angeles".

Catania is truly excited about the olivoiL indieNight 7 lineup. Each of the participating bands selected by Catania either work together or are involved with each other in some way.

We share band members, producers, attorneys -- were all friends and very used to working together. I think that camaraderie will translate on stage and out into the audience. Its going to be the most community-oriented show to date," says Catania.

Through the indieNight series, olivoiL records continues to encourage artists to take their careers into their own hands and make positive things happen for themselves.

With the constant evolution of the record business today, there is no better time to be an independent." says Catania. The playing field is wide open."

The newly refurbished Molly Malones is located at 575 South Fairfax Ave. in Los Angeles.
olivoiL records was founded in the fall of 1999 by singer/songwriter Cynthia Catania.
