Platinum R&B Group Silk to release its fifth album on its own label.

Music Veterans R&B group, Silk announced today that they have signed a worldwide distribution agreement to release their next album under their own banner, Silk Records.

With six million-plus album sales notched on their belts, the group felt it was time for a change. Their attorney Leron Rogers negotiated their recently signed distribution agreement.

Based out of Atlanta, GA., Silk has never looked back, crediting their incredible climb to an innate sense of balance possessed by all members. The group issued their debut LP, Lose Control, in 1992 and has excited urban contemporary audiences, particularly women, with their engaging harmonies and aggressively suggestive material. Music veteran, Keith Sweat helped mold the ensemble.

The album will feature two Silk Records recording artists whose albums will follow in the first quarter of 2004. Distribution will be handled through a Liquid 8/Navarre Corporation joint venture.
