NCS Develops Six New OEM Appliances - Network Management, Network Security and Streaming Media Server Appliances for ISV Partners

Manassas, VA (PRWEB) June 19, 2003 -- NCS Technologies, Inc., a leader in internet appliance, server, PC, and notebook manufacturing, announced today that it has developed appliances for six new ISV partners. These appliances include two network management and intrusion detection devices, a network traffic controller, an internet acceleration device, a secure communications appliance, and a streaming media server appliance.

The development of these six new appliances clearly demonstrates the capability of NCS to deliver not only high quality appliances, but also those which are highly diverse in functionality. Our ISV partners took advantage of NCS Swift Appliance Partner Program to bring their appliance products to market in the very short time span of two to three months. First, we delivered test systems based on NCS functional reference platforms. Next, once the ISV had selected a standardized hardware platform, we customized the appliances to fit the ISVs specific requirement," said Mr. Pranay Prakash, Executive Director, OEM Servers & Appliances for NCS.

Two of the devices are entry level single Pentium 4 OEM appliances based on NCS 100-P 1U rack mountable set-top platform. An additional two are high performance dual Xeon OEM appliances based on NCS 240-X 2U rack mountable appliance platform. Of the remaining two, one is a custom built single Pentium4 1U rack mountable multi-media system, while the other is a custom built single Pentium4 system in a customized 2U rack mountable enclosure with front accessible I/O ports. Two of the appliances run on Windows, three run on Linux, and one runs on the BSD operating systems.

NCS has also recently supplied several new prototype appliance platforms to other prospective customers. We hope to close a few more of these deals in the next quarter", said Mr. Prakash.
