The Institute for Applied Meditation announced the Annual Meditation Conference Retreat led by Puran and Susanna Bair
Puran and Susanna Bair, founders of the Institute for Applied Meditation, will be leading a Conference Retreat at the Abode of the Message in the Berkshire Mountains from July 17 - 23, 2003. The Annual Conference Retreat will focus on the Wish of the Heart, and how to set and achieve goals which are worthy of us. For more information, call 888.310.7881 or visit www.appliedmeditation.org.
The Institute for Applied Meditation sponsor the Retreat as an annual event. Every year has a different theme, with this year's being discovering the heart's wish and fulfilling the wish. This is done through group meditation, guided and individual meditation, movement and group practices. Susanna Bair, IAM co-founder, calls this event the one which should not be missed. She says, "the group energy is quite incredible - - and this is for both those who have been with us for a while and those who are new to Heart Rhythm Practice." The five-day retreat will build each day, with activities such as whirling, meditating, heart circles and firewalking.
The material for the Conference Retreat is based on co-founder Puran Bair's book, Living From the Heart. This book was lauded by Publishers Weekly as "the ancient practice of meditation as a modern tool for coping with life's tribulations and makes meditation more accessible by showing that a person doesn't have to retreat to a mountain top or a meditation center to enjoy meditation's benefits."
Puran Bair is a recognized Sufi Master and together with Susanna Bair, he founded the Institute for Applied Meditation. Together, they refined the technique now well-known as Heart Rhythm Practice. Puran and Susanna have taught over ten thousand people how to meditate, and they emphasize the application of meditation techniques to improve daily life.
IAM cautions that this is the most popular event of the year, so early registation is recommended. The Abode of the Message, originally a Shaker village, is located outside Albany, New York and offers lodging and organic, home-grown meals.
