You're not limited to squares whose edges run parallel to sides of your screen. Diagonal squares are much more difficult to manage, and destroying them results in more points. Bigger squares result in bigger scores, too.
Novel Squares is easy to learn, but difficult to master. It strengthens logic and planning skills, and provides hours of entertainment.
