FOR YOUR APPROVAL:
RIPE - the seven-piece progressive pop rock band from NYC will play a two songs on "Weekend Today", a news magazine on NBC affiliated WPTV in West Palm Beach, FL.
Weekend Today" will feature three fashion segments based around the style of Adam of Adamsphere (http://www.ceramiciron.com/); the third installment will be a ten-minute fashion show of the best looks for summer 2003. RIPEs music, sung live to tracks, will accompany the runway portion of the summer couture collection. The segment will air on July during sweeps week in the Palm Beach area, and then will potentially be picked up by affiliate sister stations with the possibility of airing nationally on the Today show.
Ripe will perform a special rendition of their song "70" which was written and recorded days after 9/11. 70" features a layer of Hebrew rap that runs parallel to the verses and chorus, which are sung in English. Copies of the 70" single were sold in 2001 and 2002 and all the proceeds were donated to the Twin Towers fund. The second song featured on the show will be Central Park", the jewel of RIPEs upcoming album.
The progressive pop/rock band RIPE has been active in the NYC music scene since 2001. RIPE credits include: performing at the NCAA Sweet Sixteen games in 2002, singing the National Anthem for the Brooklyn Cyclones opening game last summer as well as a CBS television interview and live performance. RIPE has airplay on local, national and international radio stations, including a special WPLJ a capella feature. RIPE has performed in NYC venues such as Arlene Grocery, Elbow Room, Makor and the Cutting Room, to name a few.
