Bathtub Mary will thrive in the jamband world, but will eventually transcend it because theyve got the songs!" Says Danger Artists Managements Dan Millen.

It is raw, it is real, it is us." says singer/songwriter/guitarist Philip DaRosa, of the recording process. In a deliberate move to avoid over production" that is found in so much contemporary music, Bathtub Mary has recorded all of the music for this album live in the studio, and left only vocal arrangements and overdubs in isolation.
Creating this album was as much about the experience of making music as it was about creating the final product. Much of Change" focuses on global instability and the pursuit of progressive thought. Wed like to be thought of as 'The Jam Band with a Voice" says bassist Jackson Smith.
Bathtub Mary experiments musically within songwriting structure, utilizing their impressive and diverse musical backgrounds to craft each song, and the album as a whole as a complete work. They focus on finding the balance between musical indulgence and concrete songwriting. Theres an intrinsic charm and natural ease, each new song is better than the last." Says WUMB Folk Radios Marilyn Rea Beyer.

For Immediate Release:
NORTHAMPTON, MA (PRWEB) June 2003 -- In support of their album The Change They Want to See," due for release in July, 2003. Northamptons Bathtub Mary will take to the road for their official Debut CD Release Tour, From July through October, 2003.
Bathtub Mary will thrive in the jamband world, but will eventually transcend it because theyve got the songs!" Says Danger Artists Managements Dan Millen. And to the jamband world they go, with multiple festival dates this summer from Pennsylvania to New York, and performances scheduled at such musically historic locations as The Hot Tin Roof on Marthas Vineyard, and Harpers Ferry in Boston, and shows from New Hampshire to North Carolina filling the spaces between (please see www.bathtubmary.com for updated tour info).
BTMs previous travels have taken them twice to Harpers Ferry, once to open an all acoustic night for Strangefolks Patchen Montgomery, and from Marthas Vineyard to Plattsburgh, NY. They have appeared Live on WUMB folk radio, WMVY (Jeremy Milligan solo) and interviewed with Boston Universitys WTBU.
Bathtub Mary shows are often thought provoking and politically charged. In tandem with their heady lyrics and concrete songs, they are easily able to flow with the moment and allow the music to develop into a 10 or 15 minute jam session. Bathtub Mary jam sessions are crisp and tight, and tighten as they go, while the musical lets loose and allows each member room to express. In explaining their balance of the jam versus the song, bassist Jackson Smith said Wed like to be thought of as 'The Jam Band with a Voice."
With influences from classical composers to the loosest of improvisors, Bathtub Mary takes listeners on a series of little explorations in the course of an evening. Moving with the music as it moves, letting go of the boundries and borrowing from all aspects of the music world, never losing sight of the messages they are delivering, and always focusing on precision and quality.
This tour is being booked and produced by Tight Records, the band owned & developed independent label and studio.
