Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 23, 2003 - Nicole Clifton Mommy and COO of WYIM, WIth You In Mind faces challenges and sweet success in running about home business, with added complications of chronic and disabling diseases of Lupus and Fibromyalgia. Recent pending patents items, Pesonalized Nursery Name Shelf created for Kelly Ripa's baby in mind. Challenges are great but rewards are even sweeter.
I have learned many things in my life and most of them as I get older and became a wife and mother, and a work at home mommy. I am 34 nearly 35 years old I have many roles as most of us do. Everyday is a struggle because of my health and doing all I can do (can being the operative word) to keep my home business highly profitable. I have both systemic Lupus and Fibromylgia which have kept me home bound for years now and take their daily toll on my body mostly in the way of terrible inflammation and PAIN. I will not bore you with to many details, if you are interested you may learn more about Lupus www.lupus.org or www.fibromyalgia.org. The last month has been pretty bad and have made 4 trips to the ER with migraines, kidney issues and more. FINALLY I am feeling somewhat better after resting and taking even more medication. There are no cures for my diseases as of yet and I just have to make due as best I can and push through the really really hard days, medication, rest, and a wonderfully supportive family, as well as a positive outlook help make it all bearable. You will often hear me joke about my illnesses and please know this is a coping mechanism and helps me feel in control somewhat of my body. Unfortunately both cause me constant pain and difficulties. An interesting note to some may be that at the time of beginning my journey with WYIM, I was unable to work in any traditional professional sense due to my health or lack thereof I have been pretty ill, with arthritis being my chief complaint, for many years now and my diseases get progressively worse as do my symptoms but I am a fighter and have the most fantastic support system you have every seen. My husband and daughter are profound support to me and my life has never been so sweet. With so many roles to cover in a day, and my family is so supportive and loving I am a fortunate woman indeed. They do not even complain when they have to pick up the household tasks or help with an order because Mommy is not feeling well today! We are in this together:) Professionally I get to have fun everyday making our Nursery Name Shelves, Bedtime Story Lamps and more. Being home with my five year old daughter, Haley Belle. and doing what I love professionally is sheer heaven.
I have Mommy in my title for the business and envision always having it prominently displayed as this is a key part of who I am both in business and personally. My working title is Mommy and COO of WYIM, With You In Mind. WYIM, has been in business for over 5 years now and I have been involved from the beginning though I officially joined about 2 years ago as partner with my Mom. My partner and Mom creates out of this world beautiful hand painted items from antiques to dinnerware, while I focus on our Children's Collection including our Nursery Name Shelves, Bedtime Story Lamps, Just Names and Snuggle Bugs. It is a lovely arrangement that I would not alter for the world. We work out of our homes, and although separated by about 30 miles (not bad) we utilize the net and in person visits to complete our business discussions and more. What is terrific about working with my Mom is that we have a very comfortable relationship therefore it is not usually necessary to separate work from personal family issues because it is seamlessly interwoven. I started my end of WYIM because I knew from the first Nursery Name Shelf designed it was going to be a hit. I had a strong feeling that would not rest until I developed that side of the business, which is what I did. The very first shelf was designed for my little sweetie Haley Belle. From there we made the shelves for a few friends and relatives that got rave reviews and were requested as purchases and gifts. I kept insisting to my Mom that she go for this angle in WYIM but she was much more interested in creating her hand painted dinnerware, antiques et. When it was clear to both of us that I could not let this unique and completely original product sit on the shelf - we decided to follow our passion for creating we then decided to make me part of the WYIM family.and we become the best of partners. I have had many professional years in management, human resources, staffing, sales and service it was a natural conclusion that I would become her partner. Gram, has many years in management, reporting, analysis, service, and sales which balance us nicely. I am more of the big ideas and plans, and she is the details and the get it done in terms of accounting and such, side of the WYIM. Giving credit where credit is dues, Mom, Sandi Coleman AKA Gram, designed the first Nursery Name Shelf and extremely generously gave the design to me including all profits et. I then expanded on the original shelf design and created the Bedtime Story Lamp, Just Names and Snuggle Bugs all with patents pending. .
As for WYIM I have three friends and neighbors (so far) signed on to work from home with WYIM in both a creation and sales capacity, which is what I always dreamed of for our company. It is so difficult for anyone to find a reliable honest opportunity which allows them to work from home and make decent money. Providing just this sort of up front income opportunity to not just Moms at home but anyone really is one of my biggest developmental goals for WYIM. I am working with our attorney, who is also unable to work conventionally due to Fibromylgia on the at home income program and contracts. This is such an exciting time for us and we have many many goals yet to accomplish for our business. We have begun our own affiliate program as well as launched two new sites in addition to www.wyim.com we now have www.wyimsicalglassware.com and www.shabbychicbabynursery.com to our owned list of web properties. Keep your eye out for a few more key web properties soon. Our first and main site started last year and increases unique pages views every month. We rolled out our shopping cart via Mals-e late in 2002 and are extremely pleased with the results. Another feather in our WYIM cap is that we created Nursery Name Shelves for both Eva LaRue of All My Children and Kelly Ripa of Live with Regis and Kelly and expect to receive their endorsement or quote of our products very soon. In closing, being a home business with fantastic products are great but we also have to watch and stretch every penny, Good wholesale sources, shipping companies, support, and creative marketing is crucial to the success of the business and I am always looking for avenues to promote our business. . We are officially a profitable business at WYIM, after years, that's right years of being patient and buying pieces to our home office at really good prices. We opened business with a very minimal investment less than $1,000- and not all up front a little here and little there.I would strongly advise that anyone considering a work at home business do their homework on every aspect for there are a lot of risks involved but most important I feel make sure your family is on board and find your self a strong group of supportive women in business such as LDIK, Little Did I Know. LDIK is the best resource for support, advice, and counsel. We are a group of Mompenuers and I do not know what I would do without them - they are an inspiration everyday.. Remember waiting for orders much less waiting to become profitable can seem excruciatingly long. The rewards and challenges are never ending with a home business but the reward far out weigh the challenges in the long run. We can only go up from here and life is exciting everyday !
With great love and appreciation to my husband David and my daugher Haley.
