EDiT Launches iControl : Putting Educational Internet Control Back Into The Hands Of Teachers.

Uk Company releases a new internet control application designed for education.

Tuesday 27th May 2003 - EDiT computers, a UK based educational IT supplier, has launched a new internet control and filtering package designed to enable staff to remove the internet as a distraction during lessons, whilst still allowing it to be taught as a subject to students.

Designed to put the control firmly in the hands of the Staff and teachers, iControl allows teachers to control internet access on a computer by computer basis in their IT suites. They can disable internet access completely, or restrict it to a select number of sites and/or pages. Focusing the students on the job in hand and removing the internet as a possible diversion during lessons.

One of the main problems with the diversity of the internet is the ease at which students can be distracted from their set lesson plan by the pull of online gaming and the desire to 'surf the internet.

Teachers who use iControl can be safe in the knowledge that their students can only view online information that they have deemed safe and applicable to the current lesson.

EDiT Computers is a specialist Educational IT supplier, based in Devon, UK. They supply IT Consultancy, hardware and software tailored to the specific needs of the educational industry.
