ソGet品t?SM improves student comprehension of assigned reading materials. The name is slang for "Did you get it?" It is a new tool for teachers and administrators, offered over the internet by Analytix of Greater St. Louis, Incorporated.

Here's how it works. First, the teacher pre-reads course materials and jots down questions and teaching notes. Teaching notes are explanatory comments the teacher wants to add to the course material. These notes and questions flow along in step with the text.

Next, the teacher uses ソGet品t?SM to organize the teaching notes and questions into a crossword puzzle worksheet. This is given to students when the reading assignment is made.

The notes and questions lead students through the material in sequence. By the time students have completed their crossword puzzle, they are quite familiar with the source information. ソGet品t?SM adds some fun and challenge to doing the work. Our experience indicates that this is especially true for students with short attention spans. They will scour the source material for answers. Students are admonished to keep their worksheets throughout the course, since the very same questions will appear on tests, later.

Finally, the teacher uses ソGet品t?SM to prepare students for examinations. For instance, the teacher may include review questions from chapters 1 and 2 in a worksheet for chapter 3.

ソGet品t?SM may be used to produce multiple versions of the same worksheet or exam. The prompts and answers on all versions will be the same, but the crossword pattern will change. If, on exam day, you give version 1 to rows one, three, and five and version 2 to rows two and four, you make it nearly impossible for students to cheat.

Answers may be multiple choice answers like "A", "B", or "C"; "True" or "False" answers like "T" or "F"; one-word answers like "CUMULUS"; or phrase answers like "FATHER OF OUR COUNTRY" squeezed to "FATHEROFOURCOUNTRY".

ソGet品t?SM is an excellent tool for standardizing the coursework for a group of related teachers, say, all 7th grade science teachers in a school district. It includes the tools needed for groups of teachers to pool their teaching notes and questions into a single database, from which "standardized" tests may be created.

ソGet品t?SM integrates course materials well. After a crossword is generated, a Crossword Output Set is created. This includes teaching notes and questions prepared by the teacher, source citations, and a blank puzzle to be solved. So, all course materials are "glued" together. This helps students, and parents, know the breadth and the boundaries of the course. With each Crossword Output Set comes an answer sheet. Because of its structure, it is quite easy to grade a puzzle.

ソGet品t?SM is offered for use on a subscription basis. You use it by visiting our home page on the internet, analytixstl.com, and clicking on the ソGet品t?SM User link. For more details, go there and press the F1 key. You need a PC and Internet Explorer. The cost is $200 per year per simultaneous user. So, multiple users may share 1 subscription, as long as they use it one at a time. It is available anywhere in the world, at all times (except backup periods).
