Soybean Rust is focus of new ISU Crop Adviser Institute CEU course.
Soybean Rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) is a hot topic in agriculture circles, especially in North America, as the disease is being studied and preparations made in the event the disease moves into North American soybean growing regions. Iowa State University's Crop Adviser Institute has released a new interactive CD-ROM on Soybean Rust.
(Ames, IA) Soybean Rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) is a hot topic in agriculture circles, especially in North America, as the disease is being studied and preparations made in the event the disease moves into North American soybean growing regions. Iowa State University's Crop Adviser Institute (CAI) has released a new interactive CD-ROM on Soybean Rust which details the soybean rust fungus including the disease's life cycle, potential for damage, current worldwide distribution, potential for spread, and on-going research. This CD contains many high-quality photographs, graphics, and interactive segments including a reference section for extended learning.
This course module was developed as an information source for soybean producers and other agricultural professionals. The course also contains an optional examination component which provides the opportunity for Certified Crop Advisers to obtain continuing education units from the American Society of Agronomy.
