Based on survey information from bank investment program managers, there is a critical need to improve the management skills of those charged with the sales activities of part-time "platform" sales activities. As bank investment programs have expanded, tellers, customer service reps, and branch management may all be activley engaged in the sales of insurance and investment products. At most banks, the management of these people has been assigned to financial consultants with little or no management training. The SMART Program will provide critical skills and behavior training to quickly, and effectivley imporve these critical skills.

St. Petersburg, Florida (PRWEB) June 30, 2003 - Human Capital Resources, Inc. (HCR), a nationally known firm specializing in recruiting, training, employee testing/evaluations, and a wide range of consulting and financial services research has just introduced a new training program focused on enhancing the management skills of bank investment program platform managers. "Banks have dramatically expanded their distribution capabilities of insurance products and mutual funds by licensing and training bank employees. These so-called "platform" sales staffs are typically managed by the financial consultants," stated Paul A. Werlin, President of Human Capital Resources, Inc. Werlin continued, "In fact, research we have recently conducted has shown that banks with aggressive platform programs can receive as much as 40% of their total retail investments sales revenue from this area. With so much at stake, the management of bank investment programs are taking a very hard look at the skills and resources necessary to effectively manage this area."

   Based in part on data from banks investment and insurance sales managers across the country representing more than 2700 platform sales representatives, HCR created The SMART Program, (Sales Management and Results Training Program). This 3-4 hour program is designed to expose financial consultants with management responsibilities to the critical behaviors and activities of sales managers. "Every sales manager who responded to our survey felt their financial institution didn't provide enough training to the individuals with direct platform sales supervisory responsibilities. Survey respondents stated that there was a specific lack of training in areas such as coaching, leadership, motivational and communications skills," stated Werlin. "The SMART Program is a quick, innovative, cost-effective, and results-oriented approach to building sales management and leadership skills and addressing managers concerns for this critical position," he concluded.

Realizing the need for this training, Jackson National Life Insurance Company is making The SMART Program available to its bank clients.
