Kisha M. Morris Features At 1st Thursday's Starbucks, Washington, DC
June 26, 2003 -- 1st Thursday Poetry Open Mic Fest located at Starbucks in Chinatown, 800 7th St., NW. 2nd Level in Washington, DC. It is held from 6:15-8:00PM.
It includes a celebration of rhythm and words by Metro region finest poets who bring a different message and voice to the stage of 1st Thursday Poetry Open Mic Fest whereas each month is presented with a different theme. Prizes are given to the evening three best poets.
1st Thursday invites everyone to participate and attend this free event presented by CUDC and Desho Productions; sponsored by Starbucks and hosted by Afrika M.A.Abney aka Ashawarrior.
Our featured poet is Kisha Morris of K. Morris and Company and PJPKidz N Teenz. It also includes poetry open mic, networking, and positive vibes. Kisha M. Morris is the author of four published poetry books and several teaching publications. Ms. Morris has been teaching poetry workshops and self-empowerment seminars for the past 6 years. It is her vision to be able to teach the importance of having a love for the arts and projecting a positive image.
Being a graduate of Bowie State University in which she majored in Communications Media with a concentration in Public Relations, it was her desire through workshops and seminars, to teach marketing, literary arts, communications and writing skills. These workshops and seminars will improve personal well being and create a more positive imagery of self. Ms. Morris is the author of her latest poetry book, "Human Nature: At Its Best" and is currently working on a new marketing book titled, "Savvy Marketing Ideas for the New Author". Ms. Morris is also working a new workbook titled, "Self Esteem and Self-Image: A Guide To A New You".
