Simplified Releases Simplified Ventana 2.0 for Enhanced Telecommunication Services Management

Upgrade Adds New Applications Focused on Business Intelligence, Data Portability and Profitability Management

AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) June 28, 2003 - Simplified®, a leading provider of software infrastructure for efficiently managing the supply chain of communications, today announced the release of Simplified Ventana 2.0, a major upgrade to its flagship communication services platform built on open services, multi-protocol technology.

Simplified Ventana integrates real-time financial, network and services management capabilities for prepaid and postpaid voice and data services in a single platform. The platform is comprised of several comprehensive tool sets that enable carriers to more efficiently configure and modify rate tables, route plans, hardware devices, DNIS and PIN information and customer service and setup.

Simplified Ventana 2.0 expands the power of the platform by adding new tools and advanced applications for account management and profitability analysis. More than 500 service providers currently manage products or services on the Simplified platform totaling more than 3.9 billion minutes in 2002. Based on extensive customer feedback, Simplified Ventana 2.0 adds tools for creating traffic incentive plans for distributors, securing new customers, limiting financial risk and liability, and analyzing network profitability.

Simplified Ventana 2.0 adds unique billing, provisioning, data import/export, reporting and financial analysis capabilities that facilitate carrier reconciliation, ease new customer acquisition, boost revenue and cost assurance, and enhance fraud and security practices.

Simplified Ventana 2.0 helps limit financial risk and liability of platform owners. The new Credit Limit Manager automates the process of setting credit limits for distributors, informing them of a pending suspension, suspending a distributor if credit issues are not resolved, and reinstating to good standing when appropriate. Flexible usage options enable users to adopt policies that best reflect their customer relationships.

The new Customer Incentive Manager automates the wholesale process of discount billing for traffic volume goals agreed upon by the wholesaler and its customers. If the retail service provider or calling card distributor surpasses its goal of 1 million minutes per month, for example, the invoice from Simplified Ventana can automatically reflect a percentage or flat-rate discount. Traffic volume goals and incentive discounts are flexible and user-defined.

The new PIN Importer gives telecom service bureaus an easy way to move prepaid PINs from any prepaid calling card platform to Simplified Ventana. The tool streamlines the process of bringing new customers from competing platforms onto the Simplified platform or changing the hierarchy of existing customers on the platform. All information related to each batch-imported PIN is automatically populated in the Simplified Ventana PIN database.

More upgrade highlights:

 
  • Simplified Ventana ViewPoint combines customer service and reporting tools in a single web-based interface for significantly faster and more flexible data management. Includes more than 30 configurable real-time reports, including profit/traffic analysis, cost comparisons, trunk group usage, service bureau and distributor traffic, and other financial and operational reports.

  • PINs In Use Monitor enables users to view all PINs in use, in real-time, and easily locate and release hung PINs, investigate attempted fraud and resolve end-user issues, ultimately reducing support costs.

 
  • Dynamic Audit Logging records and tracks every modification to platform configuration and data by matching usernames and IP addresses, increasing security and fraud control.

 
  • Hardware Manager supports additional switching devices and enables remote device and trunk group provisioning.

  • Customer Service Manager improves customer data lookup, enabling faster end-user transactions and support. New menu and Web-based navigation lowers customer service costs and enables remote support.
