Rocket Builders Releases "Ready to Rocket 25" Progress Report
Despite forecasts for flat growth for the I.T. sector, Rocket Builders highlights growth examples
VANCOUVER, BC (PRWEB) June 28, 2003 - Rocket Builders has released its half-year progress report on the "Ready to Rocket 25" list. The "Ready to Rocket 25" list named twenty-five B.C. companies in January who were best positioned to capitalize on the information technology (I.T.) trends that would contribute to faster growth than the I.T. sector as a whole.
The majority of the 25 companies on this list are achieving double digit growth, validating the premise of the January forecast that companies on this list would outperform the industry average.
"Despite analysts predictions of low or no growth for the I.T. sector, I had forecast a silver lining for the I.T. sector in B.C." said Reg Nordman, Senior Partner at Rocket Builders. "I did not expect that the Ready to Rocket companies would turn this opportunity into gold so quickly."
Rocket Builders' "I.T. Outlook for 2003" examined the top market drivers for growth.
Examples of the market drivers we highlighted in January included:
- continued innovation and investment by Intel and Microsoft
- key emerging technologies such as Web Services, Smart Handheld Devices and Wireless
- breakout opportunity areas such as business in real-time, automation of entire business
processes, and facilitating business to business connections
- a 5 Pillar Model that highlights decision making factors
"Companies who have positioned themselves with these drivers have benefited in the last 6 months. As an example, companies who have leveraged Wi-Fi technology have been strong performers. Fatport is an excellent example of this." said Dave Thomas, a Senior Partner at Rocket Builders working closely with the wireless segment of the I.T. sector. "Another wireless sector example is Flowfinity Wireless, who was highlighted by Research in Motion this week as showcase partner for enabling business process integration using BlackBerry wireless handhelds and Microsoft .NET."
The process of choosing the twenty-five companies for the "Ready to Rocket 25" list involved mapping hundreds of technology companies against the key trends identified in the "I.T. Outlook 2003" report. The progress report on these 25 companies was based on interviews of the top executives and analysis of public information available on the companies.
"The majority of these companies have exceeded our expectations for quarter over quarter growth and appear to be leading the tech turnaround." said Mark Watts, a Senior Partner with Rocket Builders. "We are pleased that Jaalam is starting to get the recognition it deserves, we identified them as one of the companies that best exemplifies leveraging a number of the trends we identified."
Jaalam was recently recognized as the most promising start-up of 2003 at the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA)'s annual awards event.
