Subscriber Networks Signs Sierra Telecommunications
Start-up enterprise managment company provides shared infrastructure for Silicon Valley based convergent network.
St. Peters, PA (PRWEB) June 30, 2003 -- Chairman & CEO, Chris Catranis, announced that as of
August 1, Subscriber Networks would start providing billing, help-desk, network monitoring, and trouble ticketing for Silicon Valley based Sierra Telecommunications' 'last mile broadband network.
Sierra Telecommunications is a digital video, phone and high speed internet network for luxury apartment complexes in Silicon Valley, where the rents range from $2,000 to $3,500 per month for one bedroom and two bedroom apartments, respectively. Although we are primarily a real estate company, we need to offer our tenants these amenities ourselves because the average turnover of apartments in California is 6 months, and it takes the local phone company over a month just to install a DSL line. We also have ethnic groups from all over the world who want programming in their native languages. Through our digital cable system we acquire international channels from satellite that are not available from the local cable company. Subscriber Networks brings the network infrastructure expertise in an affordable way, which makes the most sense to us," said Michael McAlister, Real Estate Manager for Sierra Telecommunications.
"There are private networks like Sierra Telecommunications all over the country, where forward thinking real estate developers have taken advantage of their control over the 'last-mile and built infrastructure, or what we call 'pipes, that surpass anything the local incumbent carriers can provide. What remains is to manage and fill those pipes with revenue producing content," said Catranis. "I believe that real estate is the ultimate portal, and developers and real estate owners are in a unique position to capitalize on their relationships with tenants. These landlords know their tenants, and what they demand. Where Subscriber Networks adds value is in the management of these systems, so the landlords can focus on their core business," continued Catranis.
Under the Enterprise Management agreement, Subscriber Networks will take calls from Sierra Telecom tenants, coordinate installations and customer service, handle subscriber billing and network infrastructure issues. Subscriber Networks will also provide tenants a Small Office Home Office (SOHO) high speed internet service with two static IP addresses and a private collaboration portal for $79.95 per month.
Subscriber Networks is a leading provider of shared infrastructure for customer care, billing and collaborative networking solutions for the private telecommunications industry. The Companys Web-based solutions empower broadband service providers to deliver unparalleled customer service, improve operational efficiencies and rapidly bring new revenue-generating products to the last mile".
