WEST HOLLYWOOD (PRWEB) July 2003 -- Who better to judge the larger-than-life billboards that line glamorous Sunset Strip than the people who drive, walk by and see them everyday? Thats the idea behind this years inaugural Peoples Choice Award" category for the fourth annual Sunset Strip Billboard Awards, taking place Thursday, July 10, 2003 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the House of Blues, 8430 Sunset Boulevard, in West Hollywood.

The general public can view images of the awesome billboards and vote for their favorite one by logging on to www.sunsetstripawards.com. This years Peoples Choice nominees are billboards featuring Target, Bacardi, Neiman Marcus, Banana Republic, Lifetime, Starbucks, Gucci, Yahoo and Dior.

More than 200 advertising and business leaders are expected to attend the Billboard Awards gala, which honors advertising companies for their artistic achievement in various categories of billboard advertisements. The evenings keynote speaker will be Jim Campbell, president and CEO of Metro Media Technologies. Dave Widow and the Lineup, a Blues, Jazz, R&B and Funk band will provide entertainment.

The West Hollywood Sunset Strip awards will be presented in Billboard and Tall Wall categories in the areas of Consumer Goods and Services, Beverage, Fashion, Fashion Accessories, Entertainment, Leisure, Movies, Television and Public Service.

This year, awards will also be presented for the stunning billboards lining Times Square in New York. The Times Square awards will be presented in the categories of Consumer Goods and Services, Fashion, Entertainment, Leisure and Theatrical for both billboards and spectaculars-billboards that are three-dimensional or animated.

Additional awards will be given for Billboard of the Year, Tall Wall of the Year and Spectacular of the Year. A seven-judge panel comprised of creative industry professionals will choose a winner in each category.
