The websites primary purpose is to get our congressmen and state legislators to not only endorse meaningful laws but also effectively execute those laws so that the amount of unsolicited junk mail we receive every day in our email inboxes will be drastically reduced.

The latest statistics from spam filtering companies confirmed their customers inboxes are getting more spam than legitimate email, increasing concerns over the ongoing usability of the medium. (Source: Silicon.com, June 2, 2003).

SpamIsBad.com educates by introducing spam related news and articles covering three major areas: 1) general news about spammers and their techniques; 2) news about technologies that help filter out spam; and 3) news about legislation against spam. SpamIsBad.com also contains links to many of the anti-spam groups that have spawned to combat the escalating growth in unsolicited commercial email (UCE).

With the recent activity in proposed spam legislation in the U.S. Congress, and almost certain passage this year, SpamIsBad.com will continue to report on the effectiveness of any new spam law.
