The "blogBook" is a term coined by Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian of BlogProfits.com who just released his latest 'book' - that's itself a blog! The blogBook titled "Blog Profit Ideas Exposed" is presented in 33 distinct sections, each as a daily post on his weblog.
A book that's a blog? The "blogBook" is a term coined by Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian of BlogProfits.com who just released his latest 'book' - that's itself a blog!
The blogBook titled "Blog Profit Ideas Exposed" is presented in 33 distinct sections, each as a daily post on his weblog. With a click on a link that follows each section, readers can post their comments, suggestions, opinions and feedback on the work.
By offering his book's content in the form of a blog, Dr.Mani has added the kind of interactive functionality authors and writers have craved for ever so long.
"blogBooks make books uniquely reader-friendly in a very personal way" says Dr.Mani. "The resulting 'composite' blogBook, annotated with reader comments, will be far more enriching and valuable than my own writing."
When Dr.Mani decided to publish his collection of "33 Quick Tips To Blog Profits", he wanted to it to be different. "What better way than to make the book itself a blog?" asks Dr.Mani. "First we had books, then electronic books or eBooks. Now it's time for blogBooks - or should we call them b-Books?"
So is this unique format only a passing fad?
"I think this is just the start of a very popular publishing format" says the author. "Just imagine the advantages. I can keep adding to the blogBook as and when I find, hear about or use a new Blog Profit Idea! And readers will get access to updates almost in real time, as they happen. This blogBook will be a living thing that grows and morphs over time..."
The phenomenon called Weblogging - or, more popularly, 'blogging' - is setting the online world on fire. Almost a million dedicated 'bloggers' display their passions and desires, interests and peeves, openly on the Web for anyone to see.
A personal publishing form of online journalism, the 'blog' has become a medium to share anything a person might care to. Today it has also become a publishing format for electronic books. Only time will tell if it's here to stay. Until then, keep blogging!
