SMCs Newest DOCSIS-Certified Cable Modem Streamlines Broadband Connectivity

An easy to install, standards-based cable modem, the SMC8004CM is DOCSIS® 1.1-certified for performance with todays cable standards, but has DOCSIS 2.0 capability built-in, so its ready for the future as well.
This newest EZ Connect Cable Modem was designed with standards, performance and ease-of-installation in mind. Equipped with both Ethernet and USB connectivity, the SMC8004CM has the flexibility to connect a PC to the Internet via either interface-or both-allowing two PCs to connect simultaneously, or more, with a hub or router connected to the Ethernet port.
USB connection makes it easy to set-up-without opening the computer or wrangling with complex configuration-so installation service calls are shorter, and the built-in browser-based utility makes ongoing support easy, too, allowing both the user and the installer to view key network statistics for troubleshooting. Incorporating TurboDOX Bandwidth Acceleration Software from Texas Instruments, the SMC8004CM increases network capacity for cable operators while enhancing the users Broadband experience with significantly increased throughput-up to 20-times the typical rate.
