An easy to install, standards-based cable modem, the SMC8004CM is DOCSIS® 1.1-certified for performance with todays cable standards, but has DOCSIS 2.0 capability built-in, so its ready for the future as well.

This newest EZ Connect Cable Modem was designed with standards, performance and ease-of-installation in mind. Equipped with both Ethernet and USB connectivity, the SMC8004CM has the flexibility to connect a PC to the Internet via either interface-or both-allowing two PCs to connect simultaneously, or more, with a hub or router connected to the Ethernet port.

USB connection makes it easy to set-up-without opening the computer or wrangling with complex configuration-so installation service calls are shorter, and the built-in browser-based utility makes ongoing support easy, too, allowing both the user and the installer to view key network statistics for troubleshooting.
