New Consulting Firm Helps Companies Move to Linux

Open Source Software Architects is a new technical support and consulting firm specializing in open source software solutions. They provide consulting, administration, training and support in the Northeast Ohio area.

The newly established consulting firm, Open Source Software Architects (OSSA), specializes in deploying Linux and other free/open source software. They install and support open source servers and desktops. Desktops include a complete Microsoft compatible office suite, with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.

OSSA believes that with the current economic conditions and the maturing of open source applications, local businesses will increasingly look to open source software to eliminate costly license fees. Many companies have already moved to Linux, as shown by the Gartner report, which found that Linux server revenue increased 90% in one year (2002), compared with an increase of 5% for the rest of the market. OSSA is prepared to work with companies that are considering a Linux installation, but lack the technical expertise. Linux is gaining in popularity because of its reliability, scalability and low cost.
