MOORPARK, CA (PRWEB) July, 2003 -- The Legacy Design Group, Inc. announced that Don Iwerks has recently joined the companys Board of Directors.

Don Iwerks lifetime achievements include receiving the coveted Gordon E. Sawyer Award, an Oscar®, given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in recognition of his lifetime of exceptional contributions to the science and technology of motion pictures. Don has been associated with many accomplishments, including the 360-degree CircleVision camera and projection systems that he worked on with his father, animation pioneer and Walt Disney partner, Ub Iwerks. Don also played a role in Ub Iwerks' development of the Sodium Traveling Matte process, which made it possible to combine images photographed separately.

In his 35 year career with the Walt Disney Company, Don Iwerks' department designed and manufactured hundreds of unique film projection systems for the Disney theme parks. Don went on to co-found, Iwerks Entertainment, Inc. where he pursued his vision of bringing motion picture technology to a growing range of special venues around the world.
