Live Readings of the Hilarious and Poignant Cuban, That's All!" followed by a book signing with author Juan Hernandez and cast. Open call to all Cuban exiles and Latino-Americans in New York and New Jersey: Bring your friends and come hear the live reading of monologues depicting the Cuban experience from 1959 post-revolution Cuba thru today.

Cuban, Thats All! An Exile In Three Acts -- Candid Voices of a Spanglish Existence: This will be presented live the weekend of July 18 --20, 2003. The 90 minutes of live readings features a cast of four, including author Juan Hernandez, interpreting monologues in Spanish, English and Spanglish about the Cuban exile experience. Tickets for the performance are $10.00 at the door and are available at Cheval Restaurant, Amistad Restaurant & Lounge in Union City NJ and Circulo De La Hispanidad in New York. Tickets are also available at the authors website.

The book will be available for signing after the performance with the author and the cast. In the cast are: Marta Davis, Gregg Davis, Yvonne Hernandez and the author. 38-year-old author Juan Hernandez arrived from Cuba when he was fifteen days old, a story he recounts in one of the more poignant monologues, Shoebox Child. Other audience favorite interpretations are: Los Quinces, La Playa and El Interviu.

Our Civic Association is proud to bring to our community the opportunity to experience Juan and his stories. As a daughter of Immigrants I can appreciate and relate to many of the stories. Our community is proud of its Cuban heritage and flavor, we hope that many 2nd and 3rd Generation Cuban Americans come and enjoy this evening of fun and entertainment, but never the less true. -- Ernestine Tina" Yandolino, president of the civic association.

From the back cover of Cuban, That's All:

'Cuba in 1965 was no longer the paradise it had once been... There was, literally, nowhere else to go but out. So says The Shoebox Child, one of the many exiled voices in Cuban, Thats All!

Listen to the stories of assimilation as you travel from 1959 to the world of todays Cuban exiles.

Hear the voices of Camarioca, the Freedom Flights, Operacion Pedro Pan, the Mariel Boatlift and today with the pathos, humor and honesty that only Cubans can bring to their repatriation experience.

Laugh with Mayflower Mary as she tells you about her Cubano husband; cry with Luisito Dolor, a gay, Mariel boatlift refugee who spent time in a Cuban prison; meet all the voices as they embark with you on their journey toward their new homeland.

Cuban, Thats All! Is presented by The Tina Yandolino Civic Association.
Cuban, Thats All! is available via the authors website or at Amazon.Com and Barnes and Noble.com.
