A CANDLE BURNS IN BROOKLYN- Soylab Launches Candle Line and Website
Soylab is introducing a brand new line of soy candles aimed at the urban-yet-earthy hipster crowd, and is launching their website, www.soylab.com. Soylab candles are handmade in Brooklyn by two very driven and creative twenty-somethings, Leah Faust and Sarah Bagwell. They make their candles in Sarahs tiny Williamsburg apartment using all-natural soy wax, quality essential oils, and hemp-core wicks.
Soylabs founders started the company because they were unsatisfied with the choices of candles on the market. They desired an all-natural candle with clean design, as opposed to an old-fashioned, country candle made from paraffin and synthetic fragrance. Their soy candles, which burn cleaner than paraffin candles, not only last longer, but they are made with American-grown soybeans. Paraffin wax is a byproduct of gasoline refining, and the soot produced by these candles can cause damage to home interiors. Purchasing a soy candle supports the American soybean farming industry, not the oil industry.
Candles are available in 8 ounce travel tins and 10 ounce glass beakers and come in many therapeutic scents. The collection includes solstice (orange lavender), atmosphere (lavender), helios (sweet orange), aurora (rosemary lavender), atomic (cinnamon orange), and herbivore (lemongrass ginger). The burn times on the candles range from 35 to 50 hours.
Soylab is located in Brooklyn, New York. This small home-based company strives to provide high quality, earth-friendly, aesthetically pleasing candles. For additional information on soylabs candle collection, visit the website at http://www.soylab.com or call (347) 623-7740.
