Advertising Industry and Business Leaders Join the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to Honor Creativity at the Fourth Annual Sunset Strip Billboard Awards on Thursday, July 10th

The creative and artistic minds behind the awesome billboard advertisements that grace glamorous Sunset Strip will be honored at the fourth annual West Hollywood Sunset Strip Billboard Awards on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the House of Blues Sunset Strip.

WEST HOLLYWOOD -- The creative and artistic minds behind the awesome billboard advertisements that grace glamorous Sunset Strip will be honored at the fourth annual West Hollywood Sunset Strip Billboard Awards on Thursday, July 10, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the House of Blues, 8430 Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. This year, awards will also be presented for the stunning billboards lining Times Square in New York.

More than 200 advertising and business leaders are expected to attend the Billboard Awards, which honors advertising companies for their artistic achievement in various categories of billboard advertisements. The West Hollywood Sunset Strip awards will be presented in Billboard and Tall Wall categories in the areas of Consumer Goods and Services, Beverage, Fashion, Fashion Accessories, Entertainment, Leisure, Movies, Television and Public Service. The Times Square awards will be presented in the categories of Consumer Goods and Services, Fashion, Entertainment, Leisure and Theatrical for both billboards and spectaculars-billboards that are three-dimensional or animated.

The idea behind the Sunset Strip Billboard Awards was that these billboards are an attraction in and of themselves and Sunset Strip is known for its creative billboards and outside advertising," said Mindy Bradish, West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce special events director. When the event started to grow, we looked at other areas in the country that were known for their outdoor advertising and Times Square was a natural selection."

Additional awards will be given for Billboard of the Year, Tall Wall of the Year and Spectacular of the Year. A seven-judge panel comprised of creative industry professionals and City officials will choose a winner in each category.
Among last years winners were Mediacom; MacDonald Media, N.Y.; TBWA\Chiat\Day; Carat and DDB Entertainment.
