THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA SELECTS THE EDCOMM GROUP TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP TRAINING TO ITS HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPALS

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) June 9, 2003 The School District of Philadelphia has selected The Edcomm Group to deliver customized modules from its motivational leadership course, Leadership: Sharing the Vision, as part of a summer leadership retreat for high school principals throughout the district.

The professional development retreat, Leadership for Retention and Renewal, will address teacher recruitment, retention, and renewal. Edcomm worked closely with Tomas Hanna, Special Assistant to Paul Vallas, the CEO of the district, in developing the customized modules using input from high school principals and regional staff to ensure that the content was relevant to the academic world.

Edcomm will deliver the interactive, participative modules over the course of the two-day retreat to improve the interpersonal communication skills and leadership qualities of the participants. The modules include models, activities and discussions on topics including What Makes a Leader?, The Leadership Paradox, Delegate Delegate Delegate, Listen and Learn, Coaching the Team and Building Trust Relationships. Furthermore, they motivate participants by focusing not only on the skills needed, but also on the attitude, commitment, and drive to be successful that are necessary to be a true leader.
