Niragongo Ltd. presented today its advanced transcoding solution that enriches operators service offering and enables the creation of device-agnostic, compelling content. Niragongos new transcoding solution is an independent module of the Lava Smart Proxy, Niragongos core product suite. The Lava Smart Proxy is a mediation solution that enables operators to easily brand and control their services and to ensure a compelling user experience.
Niragongos advanced transcoding solution supports all popular markups, including: WML, HTML, cHTML and XHTML MP with CSS and more. Furthermore, Lava enables content to be written once and to be displayed on any mobile device by seamlessly transcoding HTML to WML, XHTML to WML, HTML to XHTML and WML to XHTML. Lavas sophisticated content transformation creates usable versions of large-screen PDA and smartphone documents, optimized for small displays. It also adapts the images within the content to match the capabilities of the requesting device. This allows saving of precious bandwidth and device-processing power, thus ensuring high quality images and a usable user interface.
Niragongo believes that advanced transcoding is required to simplify development processes of new content and to allow a centralized adaptation of any available content to any device through the Lava Proxy system.
Todays new mobile devices, such as Smart phones and WAP2.0 devices require multiple markup-based content, thus burdening operators with a very difficult administration task", says Niragongo CTO, Mr. Danny Kalish. Niragongos transcoding solution offers a single administration point for all content types and ensures seamless adaptation of any content to these new devices. This way the challenging migration to next generation devices and content is much faster and cost effective."
