ABAS at LinuxTag (Linux Day) 2003
From the 10 -- 13 July the LinuxTag, the largest trade fair for Linux and OpenSource in Europe, will open to the public. On an exhibition site of 11,000 m² interested parties will get a complete overview of the Linux market: It is beneficial for all visitors as a conference for specialists, and a trade fair for the public. Users learn about current developments. Decision-makers and specialists in the IT branch can inform themselves about the professional implementation of free software. Linux pioneer ABAS, providers of platform-independent ERP and eBusiness software for medium-sized companies, will also exhibit at the LinuxTag (stand D 4.0).
The increasing company trend toward using Linux
Since 1995, ABAS (www.abas.de) offers abas ERP software in a Linux server operation, aswell as with Unix and Windows. About 50% of 1,400 ERP installations are based on Linux. New installations run to about 90% of the free operating system. Since last year, the Karlsruhe provider of business software has also offered its ERP solution in the Front End range under Linux. The user has the free choice between Windows and the Open Source System. The systems can also be introduced in a mixed operating system. Furthermore, connecting abas Business Software to OpenOffice or StarOffice applications as an alternative to MS Office is also possible.
