Evertrust.net Announces AEStore - Software to Meet Compliance Regulations for Fixed Content Storage
Secure Digital Asset Management System first to address retention, management and deletion of electronic records regardless of hardware or media
Lafayette, CA (PRWEB) It was certainly simpler when all you had to do was keep a piece of paper for a certain length of time to meet record retention regulations. Electronic documents, MRI scans, digital images, emails, Web sites, etc. changed that simple requirement into a sophisticated process for most corporate and government entities. Moreover, the recent increase in regulatory legislation both in North America and Europe has created an urgency to meet these requirements.
Evertrust.nets AEStore is the first solution that addresses the retention requirements, management and deletion of electronic records regardless of storage hardware or media. According to Thomas Gosnell, CEO of Evertrust.net, Its absurd to think that an organization will throw out their existing storage servers in order to replace them with ones that address regulatory issues. A compliance solution needs to work with a mix of disk, tape and optical storage media. We see the AEStore solution as one that an organization can adopt into their current environment and provide the freedom to choose the best storage hardware for their needs knowing that they meet their record retention objectives and compliance regulations."
With the recent enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the integrity of electronic records and retention requirements are impacting more than just traditional regulated industries. Executives in every public company need to be confident that internal controls produce trustworthy electronic records.
Some of the key components in record retention compliance are: 1) integrity --
proving that an electronic record has not been altered; 2) retention period- applying the appropriate retention period to the individual record; 3) audit trail-providing a history of access to the record; 4) encrypting the record for privacy regulations; and 5) disposing of records at the end of the retention period.
Its interesting that in the UK its a legal requirement to destroy a record at the end of its retention period if it contains any personal information, while in North America most companies desire to destroy their records as soon as possible. Finding all copies of the records stored has been a problem, but deleting individual records from magnetic tape or optical media has been impossible. AEStores patent pending technology allows the removal of all information at the end of the retention period whether the record is on tape, disc, or optical media," according to Mr. Gosnell.
Tux Communications was an early adopter of the AEStore technology. As a Canadian Company doing business in the US and planning operations in Europe, compliance with a variety of record retention regulations was an area I wanted under control, but I couldnt invest huge resources. AEStore was the perfect solution. We opted to use it as a service with Evertrusts consumption pricing model; quick and easy installation and a monthly bill based upon our usage," said Karen Heater, CEO of Tux Communications.
Pricing and Availability
Evertrust.nets AEStore is available through resellers and the company is investigating numerous OEM options. AEStore has two pricing models; 1) a consumption model based upon usage which is ideal for the mid-sized market or as a method of evaluation; and 2) licensing based upon terabytes of storage.
