Author Writes Mystery After She "Dies."
Peggy Williams kept her spirits up and mind busy after recuperating from major heart surgery by hatching the intriguing plot to her first Maggie and Kurt mystery. The Daisy Patch will hit the stands in the early Fall of 2003.
In a rehabilitation center, Peggy Williams spent her time in physical therapy and coming up with the idea for her first Maggie and Kurt mystery. "I am a devoted fan so it was either daytime TV or run dialog and plot lines in my head," said Ms. Williams Johnson. "And the end result is The Daisy Patch. It's a 207 page medical mystery, featuring Maggie Suit and Dr. Kurt Van Doren who team up to solve two murders at the DC Hospital Center."
Maggie Suit and Kurt Van Doren are both fugitives of the divorce court. Maggie is a smart and savvy PR specialist, and Kurt is chief surgical resident at the District Hospital Center. He literally runs into Maggie's stretcher in the hospital hall while she's waiting for an x-ray. They laugh about it and become friends. After Maggie is discharged, a series of dangerous incidents at the Center put both patients and staff in jeopardy and evidence points to Kurt as the culprit. He has unknowingly made an enemy, and this person is trying to frame him for everything from medical malpractice to murder. When Maggie, over Kurts objections, gets herself readmitted to do some sleuthing, she and her daughter, Holly, are kidnapped. Its now up to Kurt to pull the pieces together and find Maggie and her daughter before they become the killers next victims.
