DENVER, CO (PRWEB) July 08, 2003 - Four years ago, Gypsy Betty was a home-schooled, high school student still trying to find her way in the world. Like most teenagers, Gypsy was desperate to find some direction in life when a homework assignment opened her eyes to the wave of the future. The assignment was to produce a full web site designed around any individual topic that she chose. The only rule was to have fun. Gypsy Betty sat down and made her choice without any reservations or qualms - to produce a site that revolved around her first true love.

And that love is... "Music," Gypsy states, now resting comfortably behind her black and silver ornate wooden desk which just so happens to be the main headquarters of her current magazine. She shifts in her seat, adjusting herself away from the glow of her 17" monitor that looms, casting a ghostly light over the mainframe of her business -- her Compaq Presario. The office is decorated in warm tones with a spattering of silver framed photos showcased around the room.

Gypsy reflects fondly on where life has lead her since that fateful day in the often thought of kitchen table where she would do her class assignments as she takes a swig of her signature Wild Cherry Pepsi with a cheerful smile that can't help but light up the room despite the brightness of the nearby computer screen.

"At that time, a few of my friends were trying to make their big break into the music industry," Gypsy explains as she taps on the Platinum JBL series speakers she now uses to listen to an endless supply of electronic press kit submissions for emphasis. "So I decided back then that my main focus would purely be on unsigned artists at that time. I wanted to help spread the word of their music while helping make the public aware of their names."

Her goal in 1999 to build a web based magazine where she could promote various talented musicians developed into what would become her very first web-based magazine known as Beat Box Online (http://www.beatboxonline.com), affectionately nicknamed BBO by it's growing list of subscribers. The 'zine was a hit! Swarms of unsigned talent stormed it's virtual doors for several years with the hopes of being featured, while the list of subscribers who couldn't get enough of unsigned and rising talent grew by the day!

Beat Box Online became the first to feature such talented artists as Mia Durante, Connor O'Brien and Jackie Salvucci. "We have seen these artists, as well as many more, mature in their music over the years. We plan to update the public on their successes to come," says Gypsy.

Meanwhile, a pleasently surprised Miss Betty was handling all the webdesign, promotions, interviews and reader-friendly service, while the requests would swell eventually overflowing her inbox. Eventually, and quite understandably, the constant influx of demands became quite a task for the one person staff to handle.

So BBO went on a one year hiatus for reorganization, and a much needed break, promising to return with bigger and better things in the future. Artists and subscribers alike waited patiently over the past year and now Gypsy Betty is pleased to announce that promise is about to be fulfilled in the guise of her new and improved magazine appropriately named Rising Stars, Inc. RSI (http://www.risingstarsinc.com) is both an extension and continuation of the former beloved Beat Box Online. Now complete with a full staff of writers and editors, improved site navigation, and a motley crew of new artists reviews as well as updates on old favorites the ezine is already poised it's first week in publication to regain it's throne as the web's first on-line source for new talent. In the weeks leading up to its maiden voyage requests by both fans and artists alike were already flying in again. It's enough to make a CEO cry! Although, as Gypsy quickly indicates there will be no tears of any kind other than happiness shed here.

She explains, "Since this journey of mine began years ago, I've met many wonderful artists that deserve to be promoted so that they can get their big break somewhere down the road. So, not only did I pass my webdesign class, I also picked up on a great hobby that I love. And who would've guessed it would lead me to my dream career now?"

"Site readers can submit musician info that they would like to see on the site themselves. It's good for both the artists and the fans." She pauses again to take another sip of her cherry soda before capitulating with a wink, a mischeivious glimmer in her eye, and a still all too youthful grin, "Afterall, the site always was by a fan for the fans."
