The companys innovative Spectra-Glo webbing glows in the dark for up to 12 hours with as little as five minutes of exposure to any light source. The new line includes Spectra-Glo versions of the companys signature product, the Co-Leash -- a patented dog collar and leash combined.

The companys president, Mike Forte, designed Co-Leash and the companys new Glow-in-the-Dark Cat Collars to increase the safety of animals and their owners, and to provide an easy way to keep track of pets -- and their leashes or collars -- late at night or during activities like camping, or hiking.

The Spectra-Glo technology that gives the Co-Leash and Glow-in-the-Dark Cat Collar their luminescence has phosphorescent pigments that glow after exposure to natural or indoor light.

The products uses nylon webbing dyed with the pigments -- a process that allows the glow" to be reusable for up to 10 years, according to Forte. The intensity of the glow is dependent on the light source used, but any light source will charge" the pigments.

Co-Leashs original design has also been tested and used by several military and police units, including the Canadian Mounties in the Yukon, the Baltimore Police Department, the Air Force K-9 Corps at McDill Air Force Base, and Search & Rescue personnel in Florida. The Glow-in-the-Dark Cat Collars are a new line for the company.
