Livingston County Coalition of Churches Announces Annual Appeal
The Livingston County Coalition of Churches, serving and supporting the needs of Livingston County for over 30 years, has announced its annual fundraising campaign for 2003. Members of our local community will be receiving letters in the next few weeks asking for their continued support.
The Livingston County Coalition of Churches, serving and supporting the needs of Livingston County for over 30 years, has announced its annual fundraising campaign for 2003. Members of our local community will be receiving letters in the next few weeks asking for their continued support of the following Coalition sponsored programs:
1) Faith in Action -- An exciting new initiative in cooperation with Catholic Charities, this programs primary purpose is to help the frail elderly, persons with disabilities, and those suffering from mental illness to maintain their independence and dignity at home for as long as possible.
2) The Food Pantry -- The 13 area food pantries currently in operation have been providing necessary nourishment for hundreds of families since 1973.
3) Visitors Hospitality Centers -- Volunteers provide warmth and hospitality to family and friends who come to visit the prisoners at Groveland and Livingston Correctional Facilities.
4) County Jail Ministry -- This committee is responsible for all religious activity at the Livingston County Jail (organizing worship services and Bible studies).
