God Honour and Country
New eBook published - God Honour and Country
8th May, 1995, the world celebrated its fiftieth anniversary of Victory in Europe. A grand universal celebration, the greatest outburst of joy since 1945. Above the parades, the pomp, the ceremony, the mass of colour as freedom flags flew, the crowds cheered and sang, and patriotism was alive once again. There was honour, pride in ones fellow man, crown and country. There was a mood of reconciliation, a new strengthening of friendships of once mortal enemies, and ministers around the world stood and proclaimed 'this was the last war amidst international euphoria of commemoration and thanksgiving of the end of Europes deadliest war. Celebrations were in place, the war was over but the fallout remained. Trankowski, George and Kitty, were products of that war and the scars they bore showed everywhere they went, in every action they took, in every relationship they had. They were the nomads, the displaced, the children of the Second World War, and while celebrations continued, black limousines drove them to St. Catherines Cemetery in Gdansk, Poland.
