Old Hoss Records new CD 'Canon' by the Wales-based Band "The Bill Fletcher Co-operative" is released this week. The band will be performing material from their new CD at the Brecon International Jazz Festival on August 9th.

(PRWEB) July 10, 2003 -- Old Hoss Records is pleased to announce the release of the new CD 'Canon' by the Wales-based Band "The Bill Fletcher Co-operative".

The CD was recorded on location in St Catherine's Church, Cardiff during March this year. The band will be performing material from their new CD at the Brecon International Jazz Festival on August 9th.

This powerful, yet atmospheric CD pays homage to musical trailblazers such as Charles Mingus, Astor Piazzolla and Abdullah Ibrahim. The arrangements, which are frequently flavoured with the back-beat rhythms of gospel, arabic and tango music, are the work of Cardiff-based double-bassist Bill Fletcher.

With its ability to 'turn on a dime' rhythmically and dynamically, the ensemble showcases the collective listening and improvising talents of Greg Evans on drums, Eurig Morgan on trumpet, Mark O'Connor on alto saxophone and Simon Fenoulhet on piano.
