(PRWEB) July 12, 2003 -- Hazardous area specialist, Hawke International, return to Offshore Europe to launch their new ATEX approved EExd connector range. They will also show a raft of tested and certified products for use in hazardous and harsh environments

Sustained safety and reliability under extreme conditions are Hawke's primary goals. The company also promise easy installation and low lifetime cost of ownership - due to superior design, long life materials and precision manufacturing.

New EExd Connectors

Hawke's new EExd connector typifies their attention to detail. This stainless steel bodied connector is the ideal decoupler for zone 1 and 2 explosive environments. ATEX compliant, the new design retains many of the best features of Hawke's previous connector range, but in addition adds innovations based on user feedback.

The connectors are tested and certified for a safe operating temperature range of -40 to +100 degrees C. The standard temperature classification of T6 at 40 degrees C ambient temperature is supplemented by optional higher ambient temperatures and T5 classification.

All models have deluge and ingress protection to IP66/67. The connectors are available in many sizes and configurations, varying from M16 to M63mm and may have from 3 to 60 pins.

Cable Glands

The first supplier to introduce a complete range of cable glands approved to the ATEX European directive, Hawke cable glands also comply with the requirement of other world-wide certifying bodies including CSA, CEPEL, GOST, UL and AUS. Quick and easy to install, cable glands from Hawke can be specified with confidence for use in extreme conditions. They provide safe, long-term, cable termination and sealing solutions that meet IP66/67 and 68 while exceeding the DTS01 deluge requirements.

EExe Enclosures

Hawke have a complete range of weatherproof and increased safety enclosures in both GRP and stainless steel. Tested and certified by BASEEFA to comply with the European ATEX Directive, they also comply with CSA and UL standards. In addition, they meet IP66/67 and 68 while exceeding the DTS01 deluge requirements.

Fieldbus

Hawke's dedicated fieldbus products offer rapid and error free connection for digital data cabling in process environments. This speeds build time and commissioning. The real benefits of fieldbus control, such as improved control data, better system integration and reduced wiring, are delivered without the need for labour-intensive installation and testing.

Transit Systems

Effective sealing is essential for safety where cables pass through bulkheads and decks to prevent the passage of smoke, flame, gas, dust or water. Hawke Transit Systems provide A60 fire protection to the latest requirements for offshore and marine applications. The modules used within the transit system are low smoke emission and halogen free.
