Panera Bread (NasdaqNM:PNRA) Debuts Bread, Bagels and Books Campaign

Panera Bread Cafes will host Local Author Signing Program in Houston to promote reading, learning, and literacy.

HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) July 12, 2003 - The American Book Cooperative (ABC) debuts its Bread, Bagels and Books initiative, sponsored by Panera Bread (NasdaqNM: PNRA) with local childrens book authors who will share lessons and stories from their books on Sunday, July 20th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the 290 and Tidwell location. The Cain Group, owners of the Houston Panera Bread Cafes, will host a continuing series of events featuring local talent for readings, discussions, and signings in their cafes. The public is invited to stop by and enjoy freshly baked pastries and delicious sandwiches while listening to the best of Houstons writing talent.

The July 20 Childrens Book event features these authors: Kelly Goldman Bennett, aka Jill Max, is a multi-published writer for children. Recent titles include: Spider Spins a Story, Fourteen Legends from Native America, Arbor Day and Flag Day. Utilizing traditional stories and artifacts, Kelly shares American Indian culture with grades K-8.

Dotti Enderle is an author and storyteller, so expect the unexpected from her at the event. Dotti is the author of the popular Fortune Tellers Club series and specializes in participation" stories for grades K-5. Her presentations have been a hit at various venues since 1993.

Pam Van Scoyoc, author of Angel Wings, because everybody deserves an angel. Pam puts her talent for art and her vivid imagination into words, and what better audience than children, or those who are children at heart.

Melanie Chrismer is the author of Phoebe Clappsaddle and the Tumbleweed Gang. Her book is featured in her Tall Tale Talk" presentation along with some good Texas fun.

Theresa Corley lives near Galveston, Texas, where she's a writer, artist, musician, and energy worker. She retired in June 2001 from a business career that lasted some 26 years to begin a new life. Theresas book The Journey Home Childrens Edition is written for children ages 9 to 99.

The American Book Cooperative (ABC), sponsor of the Bread, Bagels and Books campaign, is a local nonprofit cooperative whose goal is to help local authors promote and sell their books.
