(PRWEB) July 13, 2003 -- Flare the leading light in responsible media communications" have secured the contract for the public relations, sponsorship and marketing of Polar First, a World-Record helicopter flight between the South and North Poles, raising funds for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
The champion pilots, Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill embark on the 5-month journey of extremes, departing from New York in October 2003, they will be waved-off by the Polar First patron, The Duchess of York. Confirmed sponsors to date, include Bell Helicopter Textron Inc, Hutchinson Whampoa Ltd, Holcim Ltd, Tommy Hilfiger USA, and the YTL Group.
The objectives of the project are to establish a new world record and raise awareness of critical environmental and conservation issues, working with WWF scientists and visiting their remote project sites en route.
Two international campaigns targeting the youth market will be implemented for Polar First, involving a fund-raising campaign, which will give individuals the opportunity to sign their name on a flag which will be flown at the Poles and an educational campaign encouraging young people to learn about environmental issues as they follow a toy WWF panda via the project website.
Press and media coverage along the route will target international and local media with press conferences being held in London, New York, Charleston, Rio, Lima, Punta Arenas, Buenos Airies, Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Anchorage and Montreal throughout 2003 - 2004.
