"Buffet Sublime": Smorgasbord of wind chamber music to be presented by the Golden Gate Wind Quintet at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi

The Golden Gate Wind Quintet will be performing an enchanting program of wind chamber music titled Buffet Sublime." The program will include music by Amram, Cahuzac, Gabaye, Grainger, Ibert and Nielsen. The concert is on Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 4:00pm at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi (610 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, http://www.shrinesf.org/ ). This is a great opportunity to bask in the beauty of one of San Franciscos architectural gems and be enveloped by some of the most beautiful music written for woodwind quintet. There is no admission charge.

The Golden Gate Wind Quintet was formed in 2002 and has performed throughout the Bay Area. Comprised of flute(Jeffery Pelletier), oboe(Ivan Aladjoff), clarinet(Leslie Tagorda), French horn(Everett Doner) and bassoon(Scott Posey), woodwind quintet music combines versatility, scintillating sounds and unique instrumentation to create a very captivating texture.
Future performances of The Golden Gate Woodwind Quintet include Vive La France"- the music of French composers on July 25, 2003 at 8pm at the Community Music Center, 544 Capp St. San Francisco. Also, the Golden Gate Wind Quintet will be performing a world premiere composition/commission by composer Sy Brandon later this year.
