Breakthrough Technology Gives New Hope for Alzheimers & Other Brain Disorders

Cyberworks TVR Inc. unveiled the worlds first biomedical device which measures brain function related to cognition directly at the neuronal cellular level within the brain and provides graphic 3D imagery of cognitive functionality. At around 1/40th the cost of MRI, MEG, CAT and PET machines, this new approach to neurological activity imaging gives precise functional information on the brain's electrophysiology and cognitive performance which such devices cannot provide, and without the conscious participation of the patient.

Shanty Bay, Ontario Canada (PRWEB) July 17, 2003 -- Cyberworks TVR Inc. unveiled the worlds first biomedical device which measures brain function related to cognition directly at the neuronal cellular level within the brain and provides graphic 3D imagery of cognitive functionality. At around 1/40th the cost of MRI, MEG, CAT and PET machines, this new approach to neurological activity imaging gives precise functional information on the brain's electrophysiology and cognitive performance which such devices cannot provide, and without the conscious participation of the patient.

At the size of a small toaster, it is highly portable and poses absolutely no risk to the patient, unlike other brain imaging technologies which generally measure anatomy or blood flow, neither of which gives direct information about actual brain performance.

TriVector has been tested in peer reviewed medical studies at leading American university hospitals including University of California, Stanford University, Washington University and San Francisco State University in the assessment of Alzheimers Disease & a variety of learning disorders, monitoring sedation in critically ill patients, assessment of traumatic brain injury, monitoring of stroke and hypothermia, as well as assessment of the effect of toxins on cognition.

TriVector is based on new patented 3-dimensional real-time EEG/ERP imaging technologies which represent a revolution in the early assessment of pathological functional deficits, neuropsychiatry, trauma assessment, neuropharmacological investigations, epileptic assessment, autism and a wide range of research investigations in neuroscience.

Because it does not rely on the conscious participation or alertness of the subject, other applications include intra-operative monitoring during surgery, assessment of auditory and visual deficits in children & the developmentally handicapped and the assessment of cognitive impairment in sometimes uncooperative subjects such as malingering insurance claimants.

The technology was invented by Dr. James Clifford, a former chief neurophysiologist and Director of Science at NASAs Vestibular Research facility. Said Dr. Clifford, TriVector is the first device of its kind and represents a quantum leap in the fields of clinical research, early assessment of mental disorders and treatment optimization & monitoring".

Said Mr. Burhanpurkar, CEO of Cyberworks TVR Inc, TriVector is well positioned to become the de-facto standard in the objective assessment of neurological disorders and intra-operative monitoring in situations like cardiac arrest where consciousness must be precisely monitored during the induction of therapeutic hypothermia."

TriVector will be marketed through regional independent distributors worldwide. Enquiries are welcome.
