SMARTPHONE COMMUNITY WEBSITE HITS 10,000 USERS IN EIGHTH MONTH OF OPERATION
MoDaCo SmartPhone (http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com), has now achieved a landmark 10,000 users since its launch in December 2002, which coincided with the worldwide launch of the Microsoft SmartPhone platform.
Since December, MoDaCo SmartPhone has developed from a fledgling forum into a vibrant and active community, the largest on the web for Microsoft SmartPhone, providing a helpful environment for both new and experienced SmartPhone users.
Over the past few months, MoDaCo has undergone a number of changes, which have been designed to improve the experience for the 10,000 users, and ensured that growth is consistent.
These include:
- Smart new site design
- SmartPhone version of the site (http://mobile.MoDaCo.com)
- MoDaCo SmartPhone Skin
- Premium membership with *exclusive* benefits
- Online SmartPhone chat
A MoDaCo Event held earlier in the year in association with Microsoft proved to be a great success, and the membership is now looking forward to the 'MoDaCo Summer Event 2003' in association with Orange, to be held at Orange Studios in Birmingham in August.
The site is continuing to grow at an incredible rate, driven by exclusive content and fantastic member participation. As Orange release new versions of their SPV SmartPhone in the UK, and the SmartPhone gains more exposure worldwide, this upward trend is likely to continue.
Paul O'Brien, Founder of MoDaCo SmartPhone, reflects on what has made the site so popular:
'Microsoft SmartPhone devices provide a unique platform in the phone arena, and users soon begin to discover the huge breadth of possibilies associated with the device. The natural thing to do is to explore these possilibites, and MoDaCo SmartPhone is a fantastic enabler to doing that. I am sure that as the devices mature and these possibilities are realised, the subscriber base of the forum - and the user base of the SmartPhone Platform - will continue to increase. Here's to 100,000 registered members!'
