METICULUS SOLUTIONS SHORTLISTED FOR BEST LEGAL OFFICE TECHNOLOGY NEWCOMER IN LOTIES 2003 AWARDS

Premier legal IT award scheme recognises benefits of Red Letter recorded delivery email

(PRWEB) July 19, 2003 -- Meticulus Solutions today announced that its Red Letter secure email system, which enables legal firms to send and receive secure, confidential and auditable email, has been shortlisted for the 'Best Legal Office Technology Newcomer award in the Loties 2003 Awards.

Run by In Brief Magazine, the Loties are the premier awards for the legal technology community. They are designed to recognise innovation in legal technology software and services and the Red Letter secure email server has been selected for its demonstration of excellence and innovation in serving the needs of the legal community.

Voting is open to users of legal IT systems and services and can be carried out online at http://www.inbrief.co.uk/loties2003/lotiesshortlist.asp between 16 June -- 1 October 2003. The Loties 2003 award winners will be announced on 13 November, 2003.

To be shortlisted for the Loties awards represents a great achievement for Meticulus Solutions," commented Gordon Olson, chairman, Meticulus Solutions. Since its launch just over six months ago, legal firms have been quick to embrace Red Letter -- a strong sign that it hits the right chord with the legal community and is eliminating old fears surrounding email adoption.

"By providing simple access to the advantages of conventional email while ensuring the security and proof of delivery requirements for communicating sensitive information are met, Red Letter users are finally being freed from the laborious use of post, fax and couriers. We look forward to receiving the industry response to Red Letter from the Loties 2003 voters."

Red Letter has enjoyed a fast take-up since its launch in January 2003, with legal customers such as Decherts, Bevan Ashford, Silverbeck Rymer and Watson, Farley & Williams having adopted the system and others trialling it.

The Red Letter solution ensures that emails only go to the intended recipients and gives the sender cast iron proof of delivery. It secures email against unauthorised interception by using industrial strength encryption in both directions. It requires no installation of any new software on either the senders or recipient's computer and works with all major email programs, making it easy to win immediate benefits with no workplace disruption.

Red Letter uses secure software situated within the senders firewall. Emails are composed as normal, and simply tagged to be sent by recorded delivery. Recipients then receive a notification email telling them they have new mail ready for collection and inviting the entry of a previously agreed password.

On successful entry recipients receive their 128 bit SSL-secured email and any attachments in their web browser, ready to be printed or securely downloaded. The sender gets an automatic receipt once the email is accessed. Password-protected audit logs on the server keep full records of all secure emails sent.
