Bethany House Fiction Authors Honored With Four
Christy Awards
Four Bethany Titles Recently Received Christy Awards for Excellence in Christian Fiction: "All the Way Home", "Candle in the Darkness", "His Watchful Eye", and "Arena"
The Christy Awards celebrate excellence in Christian fiction and are designed to highlight the diversity of choices available in Christian fiction, encourage creativity, and highlight talent that may not have reached the bestseller lists. Named after Catherine Marshall's popular novel Christy, the Christy Awards were established in 1999. This year's winners were announced at the third annual Christy Award Celebration of the Story on July 11, 2003 in Orlando, Florida.
This year's Bethany House Winners are:
"All the Way Home" by Ann Tatlock(Contemporary Fiction category)
The reuniting of two friends separated by World War II internment camps shows the vital importance of family and the bitter consequences of prejudice.
"Candle in the Darkness" by Lynn Austin (North American Historical category)
