'World's Smallest Film Festival' to present this week at the International Film Festival "Expresión en Corto", taking place in Guanajuato, México. BigDigit will also stage a WSFF mobile film competition in London September 23-24 in conjunction with the Mobile Commerce World exhibition and conference, hosted by Terrapinn,Ltd.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2003 -- BigDigit, Inc., a worldwide leader in independent mobile video and mobile animation content aggregation and distribution, will participate in the International Film Festival "Expresión en Corto", which began last week and continues through July 26 in Guanajuato, México.
The Expresión en Corto is a popular event that showcases short films and documentaries submitted by filmmakers from around the world. Last year, the festival received 290 submissions from 48 countries and attracted more than 48,000 people.
The principal location of the event is in the city of Guanajuato, with a secondary location in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Mexico is one of the largest wireless markets in the world, and is believed to be the first geographic area where the number of wireless phones surpassed the number of wired telephone connections.
BigDigit co-founder and vice president of technology initiatives Tim Scannell is scheduled to make a presentation at the festival, which will include an overview of the worldwide market and increasing demand for mobile entertainment and films. BigDigit executives will also present some of the winning films from its own Worlds Smallest Film Festival" competition, which took place earlier this year in New Orleans, LA.
The Worlds Smallest Film Festival" is a unique event that is held at various locations throughout the world and is designed to recognize and showcase some of the top digital content created for showing on next-generation wireless phones and other wireless personal devices.
Winning films are selected in different categories, including drama, comedy, commercial, episodic, experimental, instructional, sports and animation. Some of the winners in the most recent competition are: Statues Quo, by Oren Ben-Tov (Animation), Love Bytes, Episode 2, by Frank Chindamo (Comedy), Speedos, by Rich Underwood (Commercial), and Falls, by Edmundo Roman (Experimental).

The next Worlds Smallest Film Festival" competition will take place September in conjunction with the Mobile Commerce World exhibition and conference scheduled to take place September 23 -- 24 in London, hosted by Terrapinn,Ltd.
