MASSACHUSETTS BAR ASSOCIATION AND CTSOURCE TAKE LID OFF TECH TOOLBOX FOR LAWYERS
BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) July 22, 2003 -- The Massachusetts Bar Association has announced a new addition to its portfolio of member benefits. Beginning in September 2003, members of the Massachusetts Bar Association will have exclusive access to a state-of-the-art, software-based telephone system offer from CTSource, a Marblehead, MA voice and data communications provider. This new benefit represents the initial offering in the associations Legal Tech Toolbox, which will provide members with access to technology-based legal products and services.
According to Abigail Shaine, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Technology is an increasingly important part of our members practice of law, in terms of both their ability to service clients and manage their offices. However, the pace with which technology is changing and new products are introduced makes it difficult for our members to keep abreast of whats new and appropriate for their practices."
The software-based telephone system from CTSource, TeleVantage, is produced by Artisoft, a Cambridge, MA corporation and incorporates state-of-the-art, proven technologies from Microsoft and Intel. The phone system comes with a comprehensive array of calling and call-management features.
These give members the capability to never miss calls even when out of the office, know whos calling before picking up a call, track all calls going into and out of the office, automatically bill calls by linking to their accounting and billing packages, set up conference calls directly, and administer phone changes as new staff are hired or associates change offices.
According to Michael Carpenter, President & CEO of CTSource, With this offer, members of the Massachusetts Bar Association will be able to provide higher quality client service, be more accessible to clients, and run their practices more efficiently. The bottom line is a healthier bottom line for member practices."
To gain perspective on the impact of technology on telephone systems, Carpenter noted that, the TeleVantage platform is doing for traditional phone systems what word processing applications did for typewriters."
Through its Legal Tech Toolbox, the Massachusetts Bar Association will provide its more than 18,000 members with access to technology-based products and services that it has researched and now endorses for use. Technology for law practices, according to Shaine, represents another opportunity for the Association to deliver value to our members. And because of the importance of the telephone in a law practice and the significant advances in phone system technology, making the CTSource platform our first Toolbox offering is very appropriate.
We are very excited to be rolling out the CTSource system," Shaine added, since it provides a proven technology solution for an important part of our members practices. And as we add additional offerings in our Legal Tech Toolbox, the Association will become a key resource to our members not just for their law-related needs but also for their technology needs."
