The Private Advising Group, a leading boutique corporate law firm based in Miami, has been certified as minority owned and operated in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (the NMSD").

(PRWEB) July 23, 2003 -- At the request of several of our Fortune 1000 clients the Private Advising Group Law Firm PA has been certified by the Florida Regional Minority Business Council as a minority owned business.

The process ensures that these businesses are 51% (in our case 100%) minority owned and operated in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (the NMSD"). Many large companies in the United States have committed to spend a certain percentage of their dollars with minority- or women-owned businesses.

The National Minority Development Council/Florida Regional Minority Business Council is one of the principal entities that certifies businesses as minority-owned.

At the Private Advising Group Law Firm PA we have recently closed or are currently involved in:

-M&As-helping to structure the sale of three different medium sized Latin Companies to international investors, each sale in the $7-15 million range. Helping a Latin economic group purchase a minority interest in a US company in Miami for several million dollars. Advised minority investors in several proposals for the acquisitions/assets purchases of US companies as large as $100 million plus.

-Financings-assisting a well known Latin American new media company do a round of financing with a US private equity firm. Advising a Latin American economic group on a multi million dollar financing of a US company in which they hold a minority stake. Assisting a Latin American bank in an over $15 million debt restructuring of a US loan to a Latin client.

-Joint Ventures-helping an US investor invest into a US service business with large operations in Central America and structuring the resulting joint venture. Assisting a prominent Latin American group with its joint venture with two US private equity firms. Advising an international media group on terminating its Latin American joint venture with a very large US media company.

-Franchises-assisting two separate franchise operation each with over 100 franchises internationally to get qualified in the United States (UFOC) and to structure their investments here.

-Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Broker Dealers-active giving advice to international private equity and hedge funds on how structure their operations to best access high net worth investors in the United States. Ongoing advice to several US broker dealers and SEC registered investment advisors.

Juan Pablo Cappello, the CEO and founder of The Private Advising Group Law Firm, has been well known in cross-border transactions throughout Latin America and Spain for the past ten years, both in the media and financial services industries. He is a balanced bilingual, who has worked at major law firms both on Wall Street and in Santiago, Chile.

Juan Pablo, before founding the Private Advising Group, was the Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Patagon, with retail brokerage and banking. He helped to structure the sale to Santander Central Hispano of a controlling interest in Patagon for $525 million plus a $250 million capital increase.

Prior to joining Patagon, Juan Pablo was General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Sky Latin America, an over $1 billion joint venture of News Corp, Televisa, Globo and Liberty Media.
Earlier in his career Juan Pablo was an associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamiltion in New York.

Juan Pablo began his career at Philippi, Yrarrazaval in Santiago, which is part of the Uria y Menendez Spain law network.

Juan Pablo received a J.D. degree from New York University Law School and an undergraduate degree from Duke University. He was an Articles Editor of the NYU Bar Review. He is a member of the Bar in New York and Florida.
