Cobion signs deal with Australian Value-add Distributor

Pixel Productions Pty Ltd to offer 3rd Generation Content Security Solutions Cobion OrangeBox Worlds Best Anti-Spam and Content Filtering now available through selected resellers

Melbourne, Australia and Kassel, Germany (PRWEB) July 24, 2003 -- Specialist IT security distributor, Pixel Productions Pty Ltd, announced today an agreement with Cobion to offer the companys innovative web and e-mail content filtering products to resellers in Australia and New Zealand. This latest signing strengthens Cobion`s position within the Asia Pacific Region and recognises Pixel Productions for the high level of support it provides to its partners.

The agreement involves the distribution of Cobions OrangeBox product line:

OrangeBox Mail 2.0 Prevents intellectual property, confidential documents, or offensive language from leaving the corporate domain via outgoing e-mail, while keeping spam or inappropriate content from coming in. Text of the message and all its attachments, regardless of format or compression, are analysed and passed or blocked according to user-defined policy.

OrangeBox Web 2.0 Enforces Internet use policy by filtering inappropriate content. Organisations define what should be accessible, at what times, by individual, group, or IP address. Requests are either passed or blocked according to a database containing over 15 million pre-categorised URLs.

OrangeBox Web Home 1.0 A pioneering solution for home use that filters undesirable or illegal Internet contents. The OrangeBox Web Home is based on a powerful URL database, the OrangeFilter. The solution ensures that the security software package cannot be deleted by children or unauthorized teens. An additional bonus of OrangeBox Web Home is that it supports all popular browser versions.

Graeme Taylor, Director of Pixel Productions comments: Cobion's product range complements our existing security offerings and allows us to offer our partners the very latest technology in combating spam, viruses and inappropriate web content, which has become a major headache and cost for many organisations. We looked at other vendors, but Cobionīs consistent high technology position along with the fact that they offer daily updates and a comprehensive product range, made choosing Cobion as our Security Partner easy.'

The agreement comes as businesses are struggling under the crush of spam. A Harris Interactive poll, taken at the end of 2002, found almost all users (80%) saying they find spam very annoying.

'The agreement with Pixel Productions reflects our commitment to our growing customer base in Australia and New Zealand. Cobion is delighted to announce the new strategic partnership with Pixel Productions, a specialist in network and internet security. The relationship brings together two market leaders and underlines our commitment to the marketplace. We look forward to working closely with Pixel Productions on a range of customer focused business. said Olaf Jacobi, Chief Sales Officer of Cobion.

Orangebox Technology goes beyond keyword matching
Cobion e-mail security solution with integrated Anti-Spam is a highly intelligent product that protects organisations against spam through the simultaneous use of 10 methods to filter spam and to avoid false positives. The technology is based on a real-time content filter that recognizes and evaluates entire texts, as opposed to conventional keyword analysis. Cobion maintains a global spam database that is updated by its 1000-server data centre in Kassel, Germany. Spam is collected, identified, marked with a digital signature, and stored in this reference database for comparison with incoming e-mail content.

The anti-spam effectiveness is further enhanced by means of detecting the URL links contained in e-mails, which are recognised and evaluated against Cobions OrangeFilter, the worlds largest URL filtering database. OrangeFilter contains over 15 million entries in 58 categories and 11 languages, based on the analysed content of more than 2.1 billion web pages. Cobions data centre analyses 120 million new websites every month and publishes 100,000 updates daily to meet the challenge of content filtering in the ever-expanding Internet.
