Republicans Sharpen Their Spears in Maryland.

Newly elected Governor of the State of Maryland stated before a recent National Federation of Independent Businesses meeting that certain Democratic seats are targeted by Republicans. One seat on the Republicant hotbox is that of the Senate Presidency.

It's not difficult to tell when Republican leadership takes the pulpit, because emblematic John the Baptist heads continuously are delivered as offerings to feed partisan agendas. Recent news articles depict that the Governor elect selected a list of Democratic leaders within the Great State of Maryland to railroad out of public office. We already see wheels of derision in motion as swashbuckling Republicans sharpen their spears and aim them at our State's best.

One of our good leaders being hoodwinked toward the proverbial chopping block (with a Republican Wall of Shame plaque lying in wait for mounting) is none other than Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. After the accusatory election season of last fall, which turned out to be a miserably failed process, intentions to de-seat the senate president through yet another false-accusation (this time funneled through the pre-dominantly Republican FBI) is of no great surprise. The newest dramatization paints Senator Miller as a thief and exposes the lengths the Republican Party resorts to when hoping to gain seats abreast a primarily Democratic state leadership.

Partisan politics are intolerable when they are filled with hopes of ruination of individual's lives and livelihoods. Partisan politics are indecent when they hope to sway the public through a continuum of negative press based on no tangible facts. When stories are aimed at shaking the popularity of upstanding leaders; with Republicans believing citizenry eventually succumb to falsehoods presented (if they are presented often enough even though proved to be nothing other than lies). Partisan politics are deplorable when they are underhanded and don't consider the good name of fellow politicians or the good names of their families.

Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. has remained a representative of the people. His actions have never been questioned, because citizens of this state know him and he knows them. He doesn't have to perform as the Republican leadership, because he is a member of his community, not a slick import. When the Republican Party begins taking stabs at our Democratic leaders they are taking stabs at us-Maryland's natives.

The depiction of Senator Miller as someone who would accept contributions to vote a certain way is totally absurd. He is, and will always remain, an honest legislator of the people well known to folks of this state, this fact is the reason behind his unwavering stance as the President of the Senate as well as the President of the President's of the Senate for the nation. And, that is why the Republican Party is so anxious to sink their claws into his character-he's a solid representative who is continuously re-elected into office by his constituents.

Many of us within the state have hope that Senator Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. will eventually run for Governor of the State of Maryland; that he may consider running for President of the United States. We know we can trust him, we know he truly cares for the citizens, for the people, and for our home. The new Republican leadership and their cronies are strangers to us. Constituents who voted them into office (many of them) are new residents of Maryland who don't have an appreciation for our history.

Democrats in the State of Maryland have a voice. We are willing to speak out in defense of our Democratic leadership who has fallen under the concept of derailment by the new Republicans. Let your voices be heard in support of our known and elected representatives, write the State Representatives or local editors of your papers; support Senator Miller along with your other favored Democratic leaders. Put an end to this nonsense.
