New Teen Beauty Magazine Lets God Be Stylist

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- July 21, 2003 -- Hot on the fashionable heels of the Legally Blonde craze comes a new teen beauty magazine that would surely be on Elle Woods subscription list. Beautiful Girl will arrive in December 2003 with hot-pink attitude and the best-kept beauty secret of all: God.
The 22-year-old publisher, Scarlett Williams, calls Beautiful Girl a Christian beauty magazine to inspire teen girls to discover their beauty from the inside out in a hip and stylish way.
A massive unrecognized market exists of tres chic girls who still love fashion and pop culture, yet are more concerned with chasing God, not just boys," said Williams, an award-winning recent journalism graduate of University of Florida who was published by the New York Times and Teen People in her senior year.
In March 2003, Williams launched the Beautiful Girl website, www.BeautifulGirlMagazine.com, to gather photos and stories from girls for the premiere issue. Williams mailbox received thousands of submissions for the magazines callout to BNBG."
I refuse to go through agencies to find models," Williams said. Our message is that in Gods eyes, we are each wonderfully and beautifully created meaning all shapes, all sizes."
Additionally, Williams, who was recently featured on the nationally syndicated Delilah radio show, continues to receive email after email from girls and their parents thanking her for the new magazine and expressing excitement about the launch.
Girls have told me that they have stopped reading the other teen magazines because their beliefs dont line up with the editorial content," Williams said. Im thrilled to give them BG in place of the others."
A chosen real girl will grace the cover of the premiere issue, accompanied inside by celebrity interviews with actress Hilary Duff, pop star Stacie Orrico, and Christian artists Jeremy Camp and Plumb. Following issues will run a reader contest to seek out the next issues cover girl.
The independently financed magazine will circulate the premiere issue nationwide between newsstands, churches, conferences and subscriptions.
