Morris Communications Company Becomes 10th Major Media Company to Use
TACODA Systems Audience Management System
To Deploy on 33 Regional Morris Digital Sites
NEW YORK (PRWEB) July 25, 2003 -- Morris Communications Company LLC, a media company with diversified holdings in newspapers, magazines, outdoor advertising, radio broadcasting, book publishing and online services, today announced it is in the process of installing TACODA Systems Audience Management System (AMS). AMS is a strategic data integration platform that helps online publishers grow their advertising and transactional revenues by profiling and targeting the most valuable segments of their audiences.
Privately held Morris Communications becomes the 10th major media company to deploy AMS. Others include Media General, The McClatchy Company, Hollinger International, USATODAY.com, Belo Interactive Inc., Tribune Interactive, The Weather Channel's weather.com, CondeNet and Advance Internet.
AMS will initially be installed on 33 Morris digital properties including: The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle; The Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville); and the Savannah (Ga.) Morning News.
With Tacoda Systems Audience Management System, publishers can successfully harvest all data across their entire enterprise and merge/purge it so that information on separate users can be collected into individual profiles. These audience profiles each contain demographic data, such as zip, age and gender, and audience site behavior, such as frequency of visits or the propensity to click on ad banners. Publishers can then group together users with similar demographic and/or behavioral characteristics into audience segments.
With TACODAs AMS, Morris Digital Works, our online services division, will be able to profile and segment its audiences to the benefit of our advertisers who increasingly are seeking more precise and accountable targeting," says William S. Morris IV, president of Morris Communications. We can include our offline subscriber data to construct ad packages that will put Morris at a competitive advantage in the markets we serve."
Having Morris as an AMS customer is tremendously satisfying," said Dave Morgan, TACODAs CEO. The company has a heritage of producing top quality products across virtually all media types. They have the same high standards for vendors and we are flattered to be their audience management solution."
Newspapers are the foundation and core business of Morris Communications Company, owned by the Morris family since 1945. Based in Augusta, Ga., the enterprise reaches across the nation, has holdings in Europe and employs 6,300 people. More than three-quarters of a million people from coast to coast subscribe to Morris Communications 37 newspapers - 26 dailies and 11 nondailies - in 14 states, reaching from Florida to Alaska to Texas to Minnesota. The privately held media company has other diversified media holdings, including magazine publishing, outdoor advertising, radio broadcasting, book publishing and distribution, and online services.
